Nikos Aliagas - ≪Regards Vénitiens≫
At Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, the opening of Nikos Aliagas' photographic exhibition entitled "Regards Vénitiens", which captures the everyday life of the Venetians, took place.
Through his characteristic black and white photographs, Nikos Aliagas captures the faces and points of Venice in a daily rhythm that works through contrasts.
On February 4, the opening of the exhibition took place, which includes works from a trip to Venice between July and November of the previous year, which took place in the context of the project of the Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro, first launched under the supervision of Patrick Tourneboeuf and Venice's own Ugo Carmeni. The Fondazione dell'Albero d'Oro aims to breathe new life into the Palazzo Vendramin Grimani, offering a varied cultural offer to support artistic research and production, also through the artist-in-residence formula.
There, the particularities of landscapes and people in everyday life were the reason for this photographic project. It is essentially wandering through the streets of Venice, which at every level is the city of contrasts. It tells stories of the people living in it against the background of unique city images.
The exhibition will run until April 2, 2023.
Greek-French Nikos Aliagas is also a photographer. His works are exhibited at "L'épreuve du temps", both in France (La Grande Arche, La Conciergerie, DIDAM in Bayonne, Christie's, etc.) and abroad (Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, etc.). Photography has been an essential part of his career for many years, as his works are hosted annually in exhibitions in France and abroad.
