Luz Casal is much more than Almodovar's muse: She is the angry girl with the somewhat unusual family model, the rock rebel, the tenacious fighter who beat two bouts of breast cancer, the solidarity artist who for two hours a day for 60 days, answered 2,000 calls from strangers during the quarantine. Above all, however, it is a mixture of strength and vulnerability simultaneously. The woman with the restless character who never stops improving, and learning, is more pleasant in her 60s than she was in her 30s and presents her most autobiographical and reflective album, without masks or gimmicks, honest and passionate as always.
After five years of abstinence, Luz Casal returns with “Hola, Qué Tal”, her new song, inspired by the conversations she had during the pandemic with thousands of strangers whom she called on the phone when asked to offer comfort or companionship. It is a song full of hope and optimism, a hand extended in the middle of a difficult time when the artist, permanently attached to reality, did not want to turn her back. Luz will release her new - and most autobiographical - album in March, a work recorded at La Casa Murada and produced by Paco Salazar, Paco Trinidad and herself.
On the occasion of the presentation of this album, the Spanish singer who became internationally known from the soundtrack for the emblematic film "High Heels" by Pedro Almodovar (1991) returns to Greece on the two days of March 11 and 12 the Christmas Theater with a best of program, accompanied on stage by the 60 members of the Symphony Orchestra. The concert program includes songs such as "Piensa en mi", "Un Αno de Amor", "No me importa nada", and "Historia de un Amor", which are only some of the great hits of the Spanish singer, her career which already counts more than 40 years.
The leading performer, in her distinctive personal and lyrical way, sings about love and passion with a surplus of autobiographical elements from her exciting and, above all, intensely emotional life: With roots in Boimorto (Coruña), the Galician star arrives in Madrid on 80s, having studied piano, solfège and ballet, he becomes a member of the rock group Los Fannys and emerges as a rock star of the time. Living with passion during this time, she leaves herself to Pedro Almodóvar and becomes his muse with a voice full of intensity and expressiveness, unique like the sea, sometimes calm and peaceful and sometimes heartbreakingly angry, but always seductive; she releases her first album in 1982 knowing instant worldwide acclaim. The unique Luz performs unsurpassed melodies, much-loved, thousands-sung, unforgettable boleros, tangos, and flamenco. Timeless and universal human stories about life, love, betrayal, and hope.
