Balenciaga Launches Skiwear Collection

Balenciaga Launches Skiwear Collection

Balenciaga has ventured into skiwear, a fitting move given the prominence of oversized puffer jackets and icy cool styles in today's winter fashion. The Paris-based fashion house is set to equip you for the snowy season with its inaugural Skiwear Collection.

This comprehensive collection encompasses an array of technical apparel, accessories, and skiing equipment, offering thermal separates, protective outerwear, gloves, footwear, and eyewear. It doesn't stop at fashion; Balenciaga's Skiwear Collection also includes ski gear like poles, packs, and even a snowboard. Remaining faithful to Balenciaga's distinctive design ethos, this collection leverages the latest advancements in snow sports manufacturing, blending high-performance functionality with après-ski aesthetics.

The collection employs a fail-safe layering system comprising a warming, moisture-wicking base layer, a lightweight padded mid-layer, and a membrane-bonded outer layer with practical features such as pockets for battery-saving devices, ventilation systems, and ski pass sheaths.

Additionally, Balenciaga introduces new skis and snowboards made from mirror-polished Titanal, ensuring precision, responsiveness, and high-speed stability. In the footwear department, the collection includes the Alaska Boot, available in leather, nylon, and faux fur variations, complete with removable chains.

This exciting collection will be unveiled through a pop-up store, first appearing at the Isetan Shinjuku Men's Building in Tokyo, where exclusive items will be on offer only at this location. Limited-edition colourways of items like nylon zip hoodies and puffer vests will be available, creating an atmosphere reminiscent of a ski adventure. The pop-up experience will also extend to Seoul, with a similar installation launching at the Shinsegae department store in Gangnam on November 22.
